Cutover of campus departments to ATM network begins |

The successful cutover of 147 NAMs in the Animal Science and Environmental Health and Safety departments marked the start of Network 21's third and final phase. During the next six months more than 178 departments will be cutover to the new ATM network. The cutovers officially began on July 8. <Updated: 7/15/98> |

100MB service introduced to the UCD campus |

The Center for Image Process and Integrated Computing (CIPIC), IT's Distributed Computing Analysis and Support (DCAS) unit and the Institute of Theoretical Dynamics (ITD) were the first UCD departments to receive 100MB service during the Stage 3 cutover. According to John Kinsella, computer systems manager for ITD, the faster connection should increase the number of departments who can use ITD's facilities for computational model and analysis purposes. <Updated: 7/22/98>
